Visit the Volunteer Form if you would like to apply to be a Story Ambassador.
Becoming a Story Ambassador is a great way for ANYONE to give back to Oglethorpe. Here is some information:
- Participants in the Story Ambassador program will help generate positive buzz about OU and the Alumni Association online.
- The Alumni Relations Office maintains an active presence on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn; Ambassadors help disseminate content for these alumni social media platforms. Strong social media assistance can reach more alumni and serve as a valuable asset to the Alumni Association’s communication efforts.
- Of course, you pick posts of your choice! Ambassadors may find many alumni members asking to link directly to them. However, achievement of the program goals are measured by the number of alumni who link to the OU Alumni Association channels, so communications should be directed primarily through those official pages.
How does it work?
Once you sign up to be an Ambassador, you will start to get no more than 1 email a week with links to Oglethorpe Stories, information, or events that should be shared. As a Story Ambassador, every time you use #OgleStory in a post on Facebook or Twitter you get points for cool prizes!
Want to do more?
- Story Ambassadors can also play a vital role in maintaining connections between alumni and the University by gathering news and updates for the "Class Notes" section of the Carillon/Flying Petrel eNewsletter and encouraging the use of our Story Form.
