You are invited to participate in a survey conducted by Oglethorpe associate professor of economics Cassandra Copeland. The purpose of this study is to learn more about individual behavioral and decision-making characteristics, motivations, reflective thinking and support for high profile public issues. The information for this study will be collected electronically from various populations of the Oglethorpe University community. The results will be used in Copeland's academic research.

Please take a few moments to fill out the survey. It should require no more than 5-10 minutes of your time and is entirely confidential. Participation is entirely voluntary, but your participation would enrich the pool of respondents. View the survey, which will close on December 21 at 11 p.m.

Be a part of the first wave to showcase the Oglethorpe tag!
Early arrivals can sometimes be an inconvenience and somewhat disconcerting. On this occasion, we're pleased to tell you of one early arrival that is welcomed and cheered by many!

The Georgia Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division has notified the university that the Oglethorpe University license plate is in production and local DMV offices will soon begin to issue the OU tag. This means that very soon, we'll see the Oglethorpe license plate on display throughout the state. For those of you who preordered your tag, your local DMV office will contact you to come in to collect it.

If you have not yet placed an order, there is still time to be among the very first to sport an OU tag. You can order it online today! Display your Petrel Pride everywhere you go!

Oglethorpe University Recognized in the 2008-2009 Edition of Colleges of Distinction
Oglethorpe University is one of only six Georgia higher education institutions recognized in the 2008-2009 edition of Colleges of Distinction. Selection is based on the opinions of guidance counselors, educators, and admissions professionals and honors colleges that excel in key areas of educational quality: engaged students, great teaching, vibrant communities and successful outcomes.

Student Horizons, Inc., which creates the annual listing of Colleges of Distinction, emphasizes that the goal is to help students and parents move beyond advertisements and rankings, to identify colleges and universities that consistently offer a remarkable undergraduate college experience and produce successful graduates.

"Oglethorpe University is pleased to be recognized as a 'College of Distinction.' We will continue to successfully transform young men and women into fully engaged students through our innovative curriculum, one-on-one interaction with faculty, and hands-on experience through internships and service learning," says Lawrence M. Schall, president of Oglethorpe University.
